how to improve chinese within a short period of time:
1) listen to chinese radio stations 24hrs each day... even when you are asleep!
2) read chinese mangas fervently... the more you read the better!
3) converse only in chinese 24hrs each day!
the methods mentioned above should be enough to do the job. if all else fails, bang your head against the wall :D
